On his poetry Justin has this to say..."for many years I rejected the idea that I was a talented writer and had a gift. It made me feel funny to admit that to myself. When I was 23 I remember my roommate and best friend telling me I had a special gift after he saw some of my writings. He told me that God gave me that gift and I need to be grateful and use it! He was very committed to me knowing this. Two months after that he died in a car accident I wrote a eulogy that I read at his grave in front of several hundred people. I simply knew I had to and he would want me to. I heard and felt hundreds of people laugh at the same time, seconds later heard and felt hundreds of people cry...it was a powerful moment. As sad as I was I was able to stay strong in that moment and I said goodbye to my friend the right way, the way he wanted me to!.....his words telling me of my gift never left my mind. Eventually I came to accept that I had a talent that needed to be developed. Everyone has their own talents and gifts. One of my greatest gifts is my ability to express feelings, thoughts and emotions through words."
